A wind mitigation inspection is a report completed by Red Rooster inspection Services LLC that can be submitted to your insurance carrier that may help homeowners qualify for an insurance premium discount. With your certified wind mitigation report, the insurance company will calculate the amount of your discount. The main areas inspected during a wind mitigation evaluation are the homes construction, gable-end bracing, roof geometry and design, roof to wall connections, any impact resistant glass, reinforced garage doors, hurricane shutters, a secondary water resistance barrier, and any other protection used to help prevent wind-borne debris damage.
These wind-resistance features decrease the amount of damage that may occur during a hurricane or high wind event. This translates to less risk for the insurance company which means savings passed on to the homeowner.
A four-point insurance inspection is sometimes a requirement when obtaining a new homeowners insurance policy or renewing an existing policy for houses that are 25-30 years or older. This four-point inspection should not be confused with a standard “residential home inspection” which is a way more comprehensive inspection. A four-point insurance inspection includes a limited scope evaluation to determine the components, general condition, and age of the following four systems: Roof, Electrical System. HVAC System, Plumbing.
Buying a home is made less stressful when you have a full understanding of the property’s operation, deficiencies, and repair and maintenance requirements. During a Buyer’s Inspection, we uncover the things that you need to know about the home before moving forward with your purchase. A home is a very complicated system, and our knowledge and experience helps us to validate that your home is safe and secure.
We use a Thermal Imaging Camera during all home inspection services at no additional charge. With the camera, which picks up areas of heat loss not visible to the naked eye, we perform a full scan of all areas of the home. This allows us to find hidden moisture intrusion, areas of energy loss, hot spots, and improper insulation that could otherwise go unnoticed.
Pre-Listing inspections (sometimes referred to as seller inspections) are becoming more popular because they virtually eliminate all the pitfalls and hassles associated with waiting to do the inspections until a buyer is found. In many ways, waiting to schedule inspections until after a home goes under agreement, is too late.
Seller inspections are arranged and paid for by the seller, usually just before the home goes on the market. The seller is the inspector’s client. The inspector works for the seller and generates a report for the seller. The seller then typically makes multiple copies of the report and shares them with potential buyers that tour the home for sale. Seller inspections are a benefit to all parties in a real estate transaction.
